Tama Khani School was opened on 13th April 2007. Trustee Phil Hanson had decided after a visit the previous year to Nepal that he would like to raise some funds himself to build a school. Phil contributed around half the funding of this school and was recognized with the naming on the plaque. The school was opened by a group had come to Nepal to do a charity Tibet trip and short trek in the Everest region. This trip was a particularly long one, having set out from Kathmandu at 6.00am the group only arrived at the village at 5.00pm. This was the first project being filmed by documentary maker Jason Graham from Cozmic TV.
